Mira Lowe: Large and In Charge
Mira Lowe, former managing editor of JET magazine who previously worked as an assistant managing editor at Ebony, was appointed editor in chief of the world's No. 1 black newsweekly in April 2009. In this newly created position, the New York native oversaw all aspects of the magazine's editorial content, staffing and evolving direction on both print and digital platforms. She discussed her ascension and the publication's legacy with Tom Joyner on his radio show. “I never thought in my lifetime that I would work for one of these publications, so it’s a dream come true,” Lowe said.
